Birds Photos Contest Entry
This same Northern Cardinal pair have been around my yard for at least a couple of years. They are the same birds featured in two different previous post, "The General" and "Bad Hair Day."
In this shot, the male was cracking open sunflower seeds, spitting out the shells, then giving the kernel to the female. It was really awesome to watch such unexpected behavior.
Image captured June 2023, best I can recall.
