Waning Summer Green

You are viewing a 7-year-old Poinsettia, taken right after a deluge. September 1st and the top leaves are beginning to turn. Time to bring it indoors for the half-light, half-dark ritual. If the past history of this particular plant is any indicator, then by the end of November there will be a crown of red leaves and a center of yellow blossoms - I hope. I have observed that people either are fond of and accepting of the Poinsettia or dislike and even loath the plant. Case in point, no pun intended, Truman Capote for instance disliked the plant so much he has been paraphrased, "Alas, the poor Poinsettia. Doomed to an eternity of being the Robert Goulet of the plant world." I like how the rain drops popped in the early morning light... Bob
