This shot was taken in Oct 2016. It is from a series of shots from the top of Owlshead in Groton State Park. We got to the park shortly after sunrise. From the parking lot it is a short but twisting 20-minute hike up the access trail. The valley was still in shadow, and it was going to be about an hour wait for the sun. So, we will wait for the arrival of 'Old Sol' with conversation around a campfire and fortified with coffee and everyone's favorite Charlie's Calamity Cakes, (Perhaps more on that another time).
