Mistley in Essex (England) is renowned for its multitudes of swans. There used to be a woman who fed them from the jetty every day at 3.30pm and they'd arrive in swarms, until the local council (despite petitions, demonstrations and a whole village attempting to bar their way) decided the jetty was a risk and build a 10 ft metal fence all around it, totally ruining not only the view, but the swan's, the woman's and every local photographer's life! The jetty was made of concrete, so structurally sound and no one had fallen off it, ever! I do get so fed up with just about everything these days being regarded by the powers that be as a risk! Ha ha end of rant! The swans are still around but not nearly so numerous - I took this photo further down the estuary.
