Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie - Photo Contest Entry
Recently took this image while visiting the Butterfly Pavilion, which has extended their venue to include a SPIDER room. The spiders are free in the room to roam and like to hang from the ceiling on their webs. I was literally doing a back bend to capture this image (The ceiling is approx. 10 - 12' high and this spider was hanging approx 2' from it). Staff continually assured us we were safe, and the spiders would not leap on us and that they were not dangerous (poisonous). This one was approx. 5" in diameter including its legs. No flash allowed - so I tricky image to achieve indoors, doing a back bend, with high ISO and a 24 - 105 mm lens (extended to its max; 105 mm)
