A Glorious Days End

I have not posted anything in approx. a week. I'm simply trying to validate the point of it. I'm contemplating selling my camera equipment and saying - Oh Well. I won't sell in galleries any longer due to the commission rates (40 - 60%). I'm further saddened with the whole AI introduction. It was one thing to compete with cell phone photography - but now people can simply set on their bum and feed the computer information to create a computerized image: no skill, no knowledge of photography, no debt for a hobby.

I rejoined FAR as a distraction from the overwhelming emotion I experience on a daily basis as the POA for my two parents with dementia. TODAY, was my mom's 18-month anniversary of her stroke that left her bedridden and in a Skilled Nursing Facility (diapered, handfed, and 2 bed baths a week). My poor dad (vascular dementia) can barely get out of bed to eat in the cafeteria.

I resubscribed to FAR as a retired Chair in a local gallery. An interest in helping others with their photography passions. But I'm fearful the art is dying on the vine.

Today was a good day! I was finally able to "Visit" with my mom without the need to advocate for better care. I came home - poured a glass of wine and acknowledged this site out of my window. No time to grab the expensive camera and lens - and seriously why bother.
