early May I discovered three baskettail dragonflies had emerged from there nymph stage, the nymphs had left the pond and climbed up our picnic table on the bank above, and the dragonflies were waiting for their wings to dry before taking their first flight. I wedged part of a twig between the boards of the table and got one of the dragonflies to grasp my finger, and then the twig. A short time after I took my photos the dragonfly took its maiden flight.
