Expressions - Art Contest Entry
HAVE YOU EVER WONDERED why so many old photos and art the subjects were NOT SMILING ?
People in old pictures often don't smile because early photography required long exposure times, making it difficult to hold a smile still for the duration of the shot, resulting in blurry images; people opted for a neutral expression to ensure a clear picture, and cultural norms at the time also considered smiling in formal portraits inappropriate, drawing influence from traditional painting practices where serious expressions were preferred.
