March Madness

Perhaps you may recall a post of mine back last September of a verdant green Poinsettia? I said that we brought it in to make it bloom for Christmas. Well Christmas and New Year's came and went and the Poinsettia... stayed Green. That is until February 14th, Valentine's Day which just happens to be: my son's birthday, my best friend's wedding, the day I bought my first car and getting my first serious valentine this happened... Karma!? That was when I first noticed the first tiny little red leaf. Since then, it has progressed to a beautiful bonnet of red and yellow. The day I shot this the light was perfect for a filtered translucent effect. Because of the strong sunlight I was able to use extreme camera settings for optimum resolution and color vibrance which also dictated using a tripod and just to be sure of no motion a cable release. Not only does it have these robust red leaves but bi-colored red/white leaves... Bob
