Global Warming Devastation!

Man Touched Landscape Photos Contest Entry
I first visited Lake Nakuru (a salt lake in the rift valley, Kenya) in 1986, it was totally pink, covered with Lesser Flamingoes. I again visited it in 2011, the edges were thickly lined pink with flamingoes, but many fewer. I was there last month and horrified to see what havoc global warming and pollution had caused - there was no pink at all, just dead trees! The water levels have risen to such an extent that the flooded trees have been killed by the salt water and the flamingoes have left as the lake is now too deep for them to feed. On another note, while researching the reasons for these changes I was also shocked to find that some safari companies are still using old photos of Lake Nakuru to publicize their trips there - so be warned this is what it looks like now!
