Birds Photos Contest Entry
This is one of my favorite birds, the Great Crested Flycatcher. Like the other flycatchers in his species, his diet consists of bugs. You won't see him feeding at bird feeders or picking up seed that has spilled below to the ground, his only interest is bugs. He sings a wonderful, VERY LOUD song, for such a little bird. It consists of two notes and is very distinct from all other birds. Another interesting fact about these birds is that when perched on a branch for a given time, they will often cock their heads to one side, making them look like they are listening to the sounds around them, and they are! Bugs! Shot with my Canon EOS 90D.
