My friend Geoff is 90 and I visited him this week. His eyesight is poor these days but he asked me to paint a memory for him of his time in Canada as a mining engineer. One particular night there was a tremendous display of aurora borealis and he and his young children aged 4 and 9 stood outside for over an hour watching. The larger child is Jayne who passed two months ago aged 63. Geoff made a rough drawing with coloured chalks of how the aurora borealis was remembered and I used that as a reference along with my imagination.
