Digital Art

I love seeing all the digital art on the site, and I appreciate how many take the time to submit the best art they can.

AI isn't perfect, it can create some wonderful artworks, however, it takes a artist eye to notice the abnormalities in some of it. Like fish with more than two eyes, hands with extra fingers. If I see digital AI art like that I don't bother to review. It surprises me how members score high on some of these images. I will use AI, but I use my own eye to fix what needs to be fixed and turn it into a far different image than what AI gave me with other programs life Topaz Studio and Photoshop.

I agree with some others on this site. AI shouldn't be just a click and submit. It should be a expression of a artist themselves, putting your own to it. By posting images with such flaws to me is degrading what true digital art is meant to be. Of course the abnormalities in these images could be what the artist is going for, but then please explain that in your description.

RE: Digital Art

Lol.weird creations from A.I. ? Oh yeah I have seen it with my program..like 2 baseball catchers at the plate..one in front of the batter and one behind..what??.. or how about when you create a family and everybody looks identical to dad...yes I agree with Lynn. Learn your A.I. tool before posting. The non-A.I. users don't realize the amount of data you need to enter to start the creation and the edit program that helps the artists to fine tune the image. Folks just like to gripe about things that they have so little knowledge of. Do I still draw? Heck yeah! My A.I program helps me with my videos..when I was just drawing the cartoons for the video it did take me longer..like my "backyard warriors" video I did 42 drawings to completed it. Took me 6 month.. now I can do videos in a fraction of the time now. A.I may not be for everyone but before you criticize get know what your criticizing first than you just don't like it.

RE: Digital Art
Hi Lynn, One of the reason I like your AI art is because you don't let it rule you. i think it gives you the idea of what you want and then you totally take over the image. You really take notice of what's wrong and fix the problem. If I ever do this kind of art I'm definitely going to aware of what's in it, so I don't get to many hands, fingers eyes and what ever else it conjures up that doesn't belong. I love how your creative instinct creates over and around so you create your own masterpiece. That's the way this kind of art should be done. Your images are always lovely! :o)

RE: Digital Art
Thank you Helvi2! There are some wonderful digital artists on this site. To many digital artists on this site, it is about the art, not simply gaining standing in the ranks. To a select few, you being one of them, have a style of their own and it shows so much that makes it stand out above the others. I can look at certain artworks and say ohh, that's Cindy's, Charlotte's or that's Helvi2's work. It is VERY difficult to create a brand identity in the digital world and those who achieve it have worked hard to get it. It's not a easy feat and I tip my hats to those artists. Thank you for being who you are and thank you for staying true to your craft and not letting AI over take who you are as a artist.

MKFlood, you are right, people have NOOO idea the work and time that goes into creating some of my works. To traditional artists digital art is a easy way out, but it actually is NOT. There is a great deal that goes into it. Just because digital artists don't have a brush, pen, paint or canvas does not make them less of a artist. You still need a artist eye, you need creativity and you still need skill. It irks me when people say digital art is a easy way out because you are right, they often have no understanding of the craft itself.
