Wow the Firebird is so bright and full of that rich red color and I`m so glad the ladybug got away but those eyes look pretty sharp and will not miss many as they probably have other things going on. Nice bright back ground too very cool Good Lighting and shadows too. The bits of green add a lot to your picture. Good Work Bingo!

Hi Shawn. I have this protective spirit thing about ladybugs. I cannot stand to see them harmed. I almost got into a fight one time because a guy smushed one. He freaked out when I confronted him about it. Nice bird Shawn and I like the cattails also. Beautifully composed image with great color, textures, and blending.

If it makes you feel better, the ladybug escaped :) I like ladybugs too, but I couldn't think of anything else red and they are so decorative in a painting. They do fly :) I haven't seen you in like a millenium, and I do thank you so much for the great review. Good to hear from you again :)

great digital art work, I love the contrast and the colors, the position of the bird within the artwork seems a bit artificial, and the wings seem a bit blurry as well

Nice job withthe redwinged blackbird Shawn. Wonderful notes, I did not know that about them. When we lived in Livermore we had them by the dozens either on our lawns or in the bird feeders. We had one up here the other day and I figured he was lost because I think they prefer the marshy areas. Very well done on all the details of this piece. Shirley

LOL. Sounds like he was in between marshes. I really don't know without looking it up, how far they travel, but I always thought that's what they prefer also. I'll have to check into that. Thanks a million for the great review, Shirley!! :) These birds bring back fun memories as a kid, we used to go out and play among the big tall cattails, catch frogs, and watch the red-winged blackbirds feed their babies.

What a lovely, and different, digital painting. I like all the detail you put into it - the seeding cattail, the little ladybugs, each leaf on the plants. The lighting is excellent. I love how the red-winged blackbird looks so soft and how his neck is craned down to look at the little bug. It looks like a play with the DOF with the bottom half of the painting is in focus, and the bird is slightly blurred. I enjoyed this one!

I always look for the first Robin to tell me spring is here, but a friend of mine insists that the true tell is when the Red Winged blackbirds come back! Very nice image. I like the cattails a lot, they look so pretty, great lighting on this and I'm glad the little ladybug flies away :)
