Wow! That looks pretty real and scary. I would not like to be out on a Sailboat in a night like this. Looks as if the sails will break and the mast will shatter in the next second. But it is a beautiful picture full of emotion skillfully painted in great black and white with limited colors. Good luck for the contest.

I loved you technique in handling the wave and foam around the boat. The use of the lighting behind the mast was used well. The height of the waves show the depth of the raging storm. I can see the outline of three sailors. A very good lighting reflection off the waves added additional depth and also showed movement in the water.

A fantastic work. Look at the detail, The ship is the subject - But the detail in the water draws you in. The story value is good too. The overall scene is so very good.

Wow what a very cool image. Not sure how you did this but very cool. Is Ginger and the Skipper on there.? Its a great image really. The lightning and waves really bring this piece to life.

Thank you so very much for the great review, Andy. I kinda looks like the storm Skipper got caught in, huh. LOL. Only they didn't have a sail boat. I think it was just a little tour boat, you know, the song...they left on a "three hour tour." :)) Again, thanks for the great review.

Yes, I disabled it to get it off the front page so someone else could have top spot. It already had "All Time Best" and I have you and many others to thank for that. It is very very much appreciated. Again, thank you, Andy! :)

What a story in this piece! A lone boat, lost at sea, battling the thunderstorm. Sometimes we all feel like this while battling the thunderstorms of life. Very nice creation of lights and shadows - nice silhouette of the boat. Great work!

Another excellent work Shawn. The title says it all and it has really good storytelling potential. I definitely would not like to be in that boat in that weather. It's a very dramatic picture with all the elements and a real feel of motion to it with the stormy sea. really well done. flanders

Apparently the site is screwed up as it states "artist information not shown ...." Right next to the artist. So be it.

Not quite sure what the images is showing - lighting and fire? And if lightning, the wrong color. With that dark and foreboding sky, it can not be a sunset.

Nice dramatic ocean, effective use of the silhouette, good story telling.

Another great image looking like a real old photo; the light is exquisite, the rain makes the sea and the sky to be a unity - very dramatic and beautiful.
