This is a very nice macro of a fly. It is really well focused and the use of light makes it shine. It is possible to see even the smallest details. Lovely colors. It is a very nice composition.

Would like to know your camera settings. This is a very good clear image and the detail is fascinating. Colour contrasts are very complimentary to the subject.

Thank you so much! I'm sorry I don't remember what the settings were. I usually shoot 125/sec f8 but I,m not sure!

What a great close up! I assume from the comment 'cropped a lot' that you didn't use a macro lens?
the colours, detail and clarity are spot on, down to the individual hairs on his back and the veins in his wings. Colours are fantastic. I would like to know what camera and settings you used, if you don't mind.
Well done indeed, and an absolute pleasure to view. Cheers, Peta

Thanks again for such a high score! I use an Olympus E3 camera, with a 35mm 1:3.5 macro. I get in focus and shoot, then get closer and shoot again. I will continue this process until I get as close as I want. He flew before I got as close as I wanted, so I cropped in the rest of the way. I usually shoot 125/sec f8 but I don't remember for sure.

Thank you so much. I hate them too, but there is beauty in everthing if you just look for it.

I have mixed feelings about this one. They are so pesky. they are so dumb that when you brush them off they land right in the same spot. But I guess I have to give you credit for the nice macro you got here. It is very clear and detailed. The colors are great as well. Very nice image.

Really good job catching this fast moving guy. Great compositon, focus, color contrast and lighting. An ugly bug against a beautiful background creates nice contrast as well.

The reflection of the sun on his body is a spark that compliments the color of the flower. Nice technique in the closeup. Thanks for sharing.
