Well, Corrina ~ you have succeeded! It has the fear factor off the charts!

Great talent showing through, lovely details and little added "fun" things to accent the theme. I love this, except I hate it! Great story elements, to say the least! eeek!

Lol thank you Bev and I really appreciate you rating this even if it isn't your cup of tea, it's a love/like it or hate it piece. Looks like there will be more in the pipeline at some stage so Im afraid there might be some more icky ones posted at some point :) Dont worry the happy stuff will far out weigh the grim stuff, just having a bit of fun with it :)

I love this. I like horror and think this is a great piece to hang on a wall. I remember Texas Chain Saw Massacre too well and this is a good remake as you have captured the events very well. The attention to details - color, facial expressions are terrific.

Oh wow thank you, I knew there were other fellow horror lovers out there ;) You can thank Mr Jones for all the characters expressions he did a fine job on them. We both seem to have caught the bug with these so there will be more in the pipeline. Thanks so much for the review

You're welcome. I can't wait to see the others. Michelle

This is really yukky! I'm not a horror fan, so it's not appealing to me at all. Having said that, I can say that technically it very good and tells the story your notes support. Good color and detail. Lots of emotion and variety of tools. You and Mr. Jones should be happy with your combined efforts.

Thanks so much for the review Jane and especially seeing that this isn't your thing. I really appreciate it. We are both pleased and already thinking of no 3 so I'm afraid there maybe a few more icky ones to come

I love it, but then again, I am a great fan of horror and have even published a book of short horror stories. One of my favorite movies. An excellent job here. Very creative and original.

Oh really, is it on the fanstory site? Whats the book called? Well done for getting it published. I attempted writing and illustrating a childrens book last year but didn't get very far with it. I still think it would make a great little book. Thanks so much for the review.
Would love to have a read, I love a good horror story :)
reply by amfunny on 31-Jan-2011
I have a link to it on my profile page at FanStory. Look up Amfunny or just go to Amazon.com and search books for Haunting Tales from a Twisted Mind by Norma Jean Lipert. I think you will really like the book. It has several short horror stories and a few horror poems thrown in.

Very clever drawing of these terrorizing characters. Your image evokes a sense of terror and you have presented and framed it very nicely.

The drawing in this is excellent and tge fact that it is a colloboration of two great artist makes it even more intriguing with each artist adding their unique set of skills to be combined into a successful piece. I am not a fan of horror movies only because my Mother told me not to watch "The Birds" when I was young and they had left me with a sitter. I had nightmares for weeks and still cannot watch horror films to this day. The piece has a very good initial impact and certainly caught my attention. I found it hard to believe that sweet Corrina had gone from turtles to killers. She really does need a holiday:). Anyway great colloboratve piece.

Aww bless ya, its amazing how films can effect you when you are kids. I remember my first ever horror, nightmare on elm street when I was 13, had never seen anything like it and from that point was hooked he he

These are fun to do as you have no idea how they will turn out. Looks like more will be in the pipeline so there might be another nasty to post at some time. And yes I play the sweet and innocent card very well mwahahahaha lol

Got my next collab this weekend, a friend of mine is a sculptor so Im getting a body cast done and then will be painting it in my aboriginal style, should be kinda funky. Have no idea what I will do with... coat rack maybe lol

Hope you had a good weekend, what you working on now?
reply by Watercoloursmleboeuf on 31-Jan-2011
Wow, that should be fun - a body cast and then painted in aboriginal style, should be really fun! I'm just barely starting to watch horror films as an adult:)hehe.. My daughter loves them and I would never watch them with her, I'm starting to now. Looking forward to your next scary post. You definitely do play the sweet and innocent card very well, had me fooled!!hehe I just about fell on the floow when I saw the horror post, I had to do a double take to see that it was really you that posted it...it's good to try different things and broaden your talent. Eventually you will make some money on one of them:) Michelle

Oh and I'm working on a back waterway in Venice.....I'm about 1/2 way through. Lots of color!
reply by Watercoloursmleboeuf on 31-Jan-2011
What about you any new paintings in the process?
reply by the author on 31-Jan-2011
yeah I'm really looking forward to it, not looking forward to the freezing cold though, apparently its a very cold process, probably not the best idea in the middle of winter lol I might paint a dress on it, not sure yet will have to see how it turns out.
Thats funny you doing a double take. I actually love the darker arts but never experimented with it, wouldn't mind exploring it further. Dont worry though, colour and the happy vibe will always be my passion this is just a bit of an experiment ;)
Not sure about the money bit, time will tell eh oh and I will post you my shadings soon, just been so busy at work :(
reply by the author on 31-Jan-2011
ooh lovely, bound to be a winner with me then :) no nothing new, trying to concentrate on that one we shall not name lol. I am supposed to be putting an illustration together for someone on fan story so that will most probably be the next project.
Oh and when I had my pics framed the guy said he always gets people come in asking for seaside scenes seeing that we live on the coast. He asked if I could do some illustrations of beach scenes then he would try and sell them so will have to give that a go at some point.
reply by Watercoloursmleboeuf on 31-Jan-2011
You should definitely try the seaside scenes that's s great opportunity! I wish I lived on the coast that's my favorite subject! I'm sure your illustrations for fan story will be great can't wait to see those. Get going on that big one I want to see the finished product:)! Michelle

Very scary and intimidating image that is thought provoking and interesting. The texture is very nice and the image graphic. The faces are shown in good detail and the colors nice.

Comment from Mr Jones

the central image of 'leatherface', created wholly by (the ingenious mind of) corrinas creations, i think is a stroke of genius. this picture is all about risk taking and just like the original film, you just don't know how it's going to be perceived (by the general public). i think her image was created with a lot of care and attention and a true homage to the brilliant movie. the comic book style might not have been intent, i guess it's just the way it turned out. the focal point of 'leatherface', is packed full of action and movement. the detail of splashed blood is hyper realistic and for me gives it a totally wired and highly edgy feel. this is my honest opinion.

Ah Mr Jones, it is rather fabulous isn't it lol Well it looks like it went down well and no one has suggested I need therapy yet lol So my dear I think we need to pick up the pencils again, put our thinking caps on and work on part 3 :) These are getting better and can see a nice litte series being made. Oh by the way got your characters in the post, they look great, Im still amazed by the detailing gone into them. Wonderful work
reply by Mr Jones on 31-Jan-2011
that is soo fine. i will wait for a while to recharge my batteries and then i will start '1000 corpses'. you will be amazed i have never seen 'nightmare on elm street'. i love wes craven's first two pictures 'the hills have eyes' and before the 'last house on the left'. both movies have been remade and they are very good also. thanks also for liking my pictures, it took me a long while to produce them but glad it's completed and our work appreciated.
reply by the author on 31-Jan-2011
it was def worth the effort! well nightmare on elm street was my first ever horror film so got to do one on that at some point, always remember watching that, was fascinated.
I had no idea last house on the left was a remake or a wes craven one, and I call myself a horror fan lol. Loved both of the remakes though, very well made.
Think we should go to town on the next one so whenever you are ready, no rush :)

I'm not into gore at all. I haven't seen the movie. However, this image doesn't bother me, it's more funny than scary. I can see this as a TV comedy sketch trying to be horror, but not quite making it. The presentation has a cartoon like simplicity. It would work in a graphic novel. Overall, a bit of fun.

Thanks Margaret, yes we have had the comical bit mentioned before. Obviously wasn't meant to be that way he he Well its a work in progress and gonna be doing some more so we will see if we can get the fear factor up and running. The fun thing about these is not knowing how they will turn out, I have had a blast doing them.
reply by margas45 on 31-Jan-2011
You are welcome! As long as you are having fun, it's worth doing.
