What a great action photo, and even better because it is your grandson. I watched one of my grandsons play football last year when he was in eighty grade. He is now a freshman in high school. I had a great time at the game. I didn't have a camera with me, but the camera I was using wouldn't have gotten anything anyway. I don't think my current camera, Nikon D200 with and 18.0-70.0 lens would capture it either. Ah well, I'll upgrade eventually, but I have tried the Nikon D3 and it is too heavy for me. I guess I'll have to stick with what I have and be satisfied with what I can capture. I haven't mastered my current camera yet, so that is my first priority. In any case, congratulations to the proud grandpa on capturing this great action photo. Enjoy the moment.

Thank you so very much! My camera and lens is heavy! I have a harness instead of a strap. it is nice to get that weight off your neck! I use the monopod too, much better than a tripod!

My friend and mentor has a harness for her professional video camera, which I could not possibly lift. I'm okay for now, but hopefully one of these days I'll upgrade and need a harness and a monopad.

I ordered the harness on line $15 and the same with the monopod $50

A lot of action here. Pretty good composition. Good grandson keeper. It would be fun to try and eliminate some of the distractions. Either way his is a nice keeper shot.

Good for your grandson. Both my boys played football, one was a kicker also and played for 12 years. A great action game and fun to watch at this age!!

You have a nice sense of movement in this shot, and the bluron foot and hand add to that. I might suggest you give the background a bit of motion blur too, that would add a real sense of speed, and make him the only focus. Donkeyoatey
