Hi Willie,

This poor bird house looks like a prison for birds! Those icicles look like prison bars. LOL I'm glad there were NO birds in there. This makes quite a statement of how winter strikes a blow with its chilling temps. Sorry to hear you lost your power for THREE weeks. That couldn't have been much fun! (even though I know it was a few years back)

The picture is wonderful hope your house didn't look this way! Winter really packs a punch bow and then.

Super Job! :o) Helvi

Good title of this shot. At least you got something good out of the storm. This is a good capture of the ice over the blue birds house; however the twisted icicle is really the eye catcher in the shot. Nice depth of field, and very well exposed. Good contest entry Willie. Best of luck.

Really an outstanding shot Willie. The icicles are captured with wonderful clarity. Your composition is just perfect. I am surprised your camera even functioned at these temperatures.

Very good work with this one. It sure does not look like and sounds like it was a very pleasant winter. Very good composition in the placement of the feeder. This winter is sure different for you.

Too funny, Wilie. Poor birds just didn't have a chance. Composition, color, ad clarity are all excellent. Nicely done and a pleasure to review

This is an interesting reminder of how harsh nature can be at times. You have lost some detail in the snow but that was probably due to the camera. I was tempted to cut out the left side and concentrate on the bird box;but further viewing showed the icicle around the twisted branch which would have made a good image in itself. Mitch

It sounds pretty bad.
out of order..no kidding.
This is something to see though...those icicles hanging in front of the bird feeder. And there's one with an interesting shape next to the box. And the snow covered trees and ground in the backround.
Nice solid brown wood against all this white. Like where the box is placed in the picture.
Good exposure and interesting subject.

Wow that is amazing ice, love the subject matter and photo shows it well. How did you survive without power, what about heating. Difficult to imagine living in such cold conditions..

3 weeks with no power - how did you stay warm? Do you have a log burner or open fire? This makes me feel cold, especially as we have had our first snow. Nice details here but I'd like to see a puffed up bird to complete the story.
