Excellent artist's notes! I agree that this is one weird looking creature and his form pops against the bright yellow fabric behind him. The 3d effect of his tail and the crater earth of the ground below him is well done. Thanks for sharing my friend. Cyn

can't say it was hard, I started out painting a lions head but got bored and added the wings, sort of took on a life of it's own after that. I've been writng another childrens book about flying wolves and dragons so guess that's where this was going LOL, still woring on that lions head however, no male body or wings, just a growling lion LOL

I'm so pleased that you liked my story. I thought my weird creature looked a bit demonic so I had to come up with a story to show that he was just a very strange creature that ruled over a valcano LOL..not much differece I guess but at least it was fun writing
