Nice shot of these unusual seeds/flowers. Nice angle of shot emphasizing the seeds. I think a little selective brighting would bring out more details in the balls. Just a thought. Thanks for sharing. Rebecca

Hello Mary. Seeds or flower??? Errrm, I guess both? fantastic looking plant, with great "what looks like" a purpleish tinge to it. very clear to look at, and enjoyable. We, as children used to throw the flower heads or seeds, on to our friends, as they would stick to their clothes! Sometimes we would miss, and they would land in their hair. That was the point we would run away. . . . fast. Thankyou, Gary. . . naughty boy.

I'm afraid I don't know what they are either, sorry. But I like the technique you've used to photograph them. The shallow aperture has nicely blurred the background, and while the tips of the foreground leaves are perhaps sharper than the spikey balls, they nonetheless lead the viewer nicely into the frame. This is helped by their shape too of course, the way it curves towards the balls. Your colour and light are both good as well.
