i don't think i've ever seen a camellia with the curled up edges Mary. Its a stunner and i can't believe it wasn't a winner. Composition is lovely with the leaves and black background. Excellent focus, lighting and techs. Picture Perfect!!

Maybe not a winner, but certainly a winner for me. Absolutely beautiful I love the way the centre is deep pink and it lightens as it gets to the edges, and love the way you caught the detail with your pin sharp focus. The centre composition works well because of the little green leaves hich look as though they are holding the camelia. lovely work. mairi

Don't normally like burned out backgrounds but against this vibrant pink flower it works. The petals in center are sharp and get gradually softer to the outer petals, Good job

Such a lovely pink flower and you are right it looks like specially designed with all its petals embroidered.. The hints of green leaves is nice touch and the dark background helps to showcase the beauty of the flower..
