I have only seen a hummingbird maybe three times in my life and to capture one on film I think is just amazing. Love the background and perfect focus of the photo.

At 1/700, the wing blur lets us know that this is an action shot, and in my opinion, adds to the sense of reality.
I have often wondered about the merits of freezing the wings perfectly in focus. Although it is a technical achievement for those who can, to me, it tends to looks a touch static.
Yours' is a fine photograph, well done.

thank you so very much! i have stopped the wings but it takes a shutter speed of about 1500/sec and that is if they are going slow.

Very nice action capture, you managed to get it all into crisp clear focus, well done for a fast little guy. Good natural lighting surrounds our subject and pulls out all that lovely detail. A plus is that out of focus background which does not allow any distractions to view this fine piece.
