Interesting indeed. Very unusual. The plants in the foreground seem to enjoy the rain and draw the eye into the picture, but just to lead them to the exquisite background. It is outstanding how you have the lighting placed and how that lighting seems to illuminate the dark cityscape.

A very fine piece of work, and very well composed. I do like how you have 'layered' your work with the coloured and detailed foreground, dark but crisp middle ground, and misty background. The rain and lightning bolt balance the work very well. Very impressive.

Thanks for the thoughts about creating personal landscapes, and nature in the midst of city life.
Wonderful ideas here, and many good details. The containers with plants and their reflection on the wet surface, the diagonal lines of the largest container and the diagonal lines of the rain going the opposite way, the repeated vertical lines of the fence, the bolt of lightening in the middle, the blue circle of light in the tower, the jagged silhouettes of buildings, and shadows of more lighter in the backround, and finally the different shades of clouds in the sky. Like the bright pops of red and green from plants/planters. They give color contrast to the rest of the picture.
The composition spreads nicely across the frame, distributing the weight well.
Good use of space also, in the amount of foreground and sky.
Nice light and shadow.
very well done. Wish I had more than a 5.

Thank you, dodgement. I did save this in layers and in a larger size so I could work on it more. Not sure what I will do with it yet, but really don't like the way the railing cuts across the painting. Maybe some water with a couple boats. Something to add more depth. Again, thank you!! :)

Yes, It acts as a barrier, But the back is fantastic.

A wonderful creation! Love the detail and texture of the rain. And the zigzag of lightening. I can almost see it zapping rooftops.
Good shadowy silhouettes of the city-escape beyond the railing.
Nice plants..Good coloring. The bench and reflection in the wet flooring are a good touch..A great addition! Thanks for sharing!

Ever so often I look at your portfolio, and when I saw this I was so sure it was a photo. The most impressive part is actually how well you pictured the rain. It looks very realistic. I also like very much the colors you used, and the reds in the foreground really stand out nicely. I also like very much the reflections in the foreground to indicate a wet surface.
The sky looks great with the flash and the softened silhouette of the skyline of a city. I think the next layer with more defined buildings could have been more subdued as well. Still the way you have done it has created a good DOFF.
I think this is a nice composition, and it is not very much to point out as a fault at all. I think this is a lovely digital creation, and I wish you luck with the contest.

How could you look at my portfolio when you not supposed to know who I am. LOL. Can't seem to get away with anything--guess I'm gonna have to change my style. :) Sometimes with these weekly contests, it's a rush to get works completed on time. I did save this in layers though so I can work on it more. Thank you ever so much for the fabulous review and tips. Very very much appreciated. :)

You are most welcome. I have actually started to recognize your work. LOL It is impossible to hide behind anonymity for some of us.

You are right - as we are nature beings we need to keep the connection with who we really are otherwise we undergo inner devastation leading to depression and disease - your red decoration represents love for life but the scene is pretty heavy with the rain and the storm - interesting horizon with these cityscape - is that tower bridge in London? Interesting capture with nature powers in action - well done to show also the grey apart of life lifted up through your decoration
