I like the composition but I would have liked more room at the top of the frame. Good POV and DOF. I wish it would have been sharper and with more detail. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks so much, unfortunately you tend to lose some of the sharpness when uploading to FAR many other members have commented on this same problem with uploads. Cheers Mary

When you come and visit Thailand you will see many of these everywhere! I am waiting for you.
The only constructive criticism I can give you is for a tighter crop...and you opted for a side placement, which many will L O V E. The reason I say a tighter crop is because you have excellent elements which will balance this perfectly (as seen in the line of back leaf). A tighter crop will also pull the viewer in closer and to a more intimate feel for your bud. This is all , of course, a personal opinion, neither right nor wrong.
You have shown the beauty well and with a good ISO the canvas is nice a clean which adds to the strength of your shot. The background is dark and humble and does not compete in any fashion and IS colour coordinated and well blurred.
It's a great shot showing us the beauty of the lotus. It has a significant spiritual meaning in Buddhism. The roots of this flower are in mud. The stem has to grow up through the water, then the heavily scented lotus flower lies gloriously in the water basking in the sunlight.
The symbolism here is that it signifies the progress of the soul, from the very primordial level of materialism (the mud), through the waters of experience, and into the bright sunshine of enlightenment. Sigh, you really wanted to know all that...sorry.
