I see a portrait of a pakistani woman - that much is obvious- and then the rest of her body becomes distorted, but it looks like she is hugging herself - one palm is open, though, which I assume is so as to accept cash. There are also two hands on her left shoulder - interesting as it could symbolize the transaction/transfer of cash from patron to beggar, or maybe even the breaking of bread, or there is even something about the hand coming over the shoulder that says "pickpocket" to me - not sure why I think that. The circular shapes at that shoulder also remind me of breasts that have been displaced (motherly instinct distorted?) and the black breast/shoulder also looks like the top half of a skull. In the left shoulder I see a vague/ghostly figure of either a bird or a man. Interesting how the "breasts" look like those of a starving woman, but the figure below is quite stocky and full, which I imagine is your expression of how they were begging for money, but looked "full" (i.e. not starving).

to be honest with you, my friends told me that they GET A LOT OF MONEY as it is a religious duty of every muslim to give, you know like the catholic everyone should give to charity but more so and I honestly did not see any skinny, starving people, more seemed to be skinny and starving in India!!! but what I did see was very dirty people, really dirty, living in dirty conditions,and terribly dirty places- the gov puts water taps up at the roadsides where people wash themselves or get water however. I have to admit, back then, there was much humour in my life there- I do not know about now---thank you

This is deep insight. Reveals the pain many of these ladies feel inside. They live is despair and without hope. Day after day life goes on and that is as good as it will ever be. So much for human equality. john
