Wow, what a wonderful Orchid Fred, and the story that goes with it is just as fabulous. Gorgeous colors, sharp focus, dof and exposure. Nothing like an Orchid, they are so beautiful and unique:)

Wow this is so bright and pretty! Very unusual looking plant. They look like stars. The blue background is great with them. Very nice photo and story!

A nice try. A few suggestions. The background is a bit distracting. It appears to be a material with creases. Judging from the sight shadow on the background and burned out central image detail, this appears to be a flash taken too close to the subject. If you view your histogram, you will most likely see a spike to the far right showing part of the image was too bright. To help this, I would crop more tightly on the center flower (eliminating most of the background) and reduce your exposure by at least one stop. - just a suggestion. Thanks for sharing. /john

Wow! Beautiful shot Fred and such interesting facts about this orchid. It's so unusual but then many things on the island of Madagascar are unusual. Excellent photo with a brilliant blue background to enhance the flowers and leaves. well done!

Great! I like the trivia that comes with it in the description! :) This art is very 'new' for me, because I haven't really seen light and brightly colored flowers lately. These ones looked at me as if they were smiling, greeting and welcoming me.

Great photo! :)

Love this orchid although it is one that I have not tried to grow. Love the thick and waxy flowers that last for a rather long time.

Like the composition with the exception of the flower at the bottom that seems to be out of place. The whites of the flowers seem to be a bit blown, however I do know that the petals do not contain much detail being of a smooth waxy consistancy.

Interesting notes for an interesting partnership in nature.
