Annie,
A wonderful picture of the Cygnet "Whistler"Swan gaining like Idepus at his reflection. In the waters beside the flaking & melting ice beside it. White feathers beginning to replace it's juvenile plumage. Beautiful composition & lighting superb camera techniques with razor sharp focus,
Susan

Awww... poor little thing. I like the drop at the end of his beak and the reflection on the water. Composition, contrast, exposure and clarity are all well done. Nice job! Thanks for sharing and good luck with the contest.

I cannot help but feel so sorry for the bird. The water looks really color and the bird appears to be in still. The feather is so beautifully captured. Thank you for sharing.

And now you have entered my territory! LOL! =)
This is one shot I was hoping to get with my Swanboy. But he lost his eggs both times his mate had them. He lost her and his kids.
Anyway..Love the pose, exposure, the clarity down to the wee drip on the tip of his bill.
Great reflection and really impressive shot of a young swan.
You can do anything can't you?
=)

Very good entry for the Cold contest - you feel cold looking at this poor little swan surrounded by the freezing water and ice. I like how you've shown his clear reflection.
Lighting and focus very good showing excellent detail. Good luck in the contest. Suzanne

Amazing image to see this ice at his left and the reflection of him in the clear icy water at the right side - super diagonal angle - a different perspective seeing him opening his wings a bit, certainly to gain more space for an inner warm up - super icy colors, very natural and beautiful, pin sharp with the perfect contrast and lighting, he looks like adapting to the ice too as his back has nearly the same color - a very nice image, all the best for the contest
