What really speaks about this is the expression. This shows, what I suspect most people don't see, the communicative expression of cats. They do speak to us. I like the execution, especially the near photographic reality of the nose. Thanks for this.

I know that animal is deeply meaningful to you so I hesitate to offer a critique. When trying to create an illusion of 3-d on a 2-d surface, it might be helpful to angle your subject a little bit. The cat has lovely 3-toned eyes and the illusion of fur is also well done.
