A great subject. I like the details of the gills, the delicate structure and the wet environment needed for these to grow. Very nice natural colors and a frame filling composition.

this is unusual shot of the fungi among I. lol
unusual frilly edges and sort of button shapes.
when they are up like that they are releaseing the spores.

The only negative thought I have the photograph is the green plant stem I think if you try to remove it from the photograph you will make the photograph pop.

Thanks so much, yes it was too difficult to remove the leaf from the scene and I only use a simple editor which wouldn't allow for cloning in such a tight area (or maybe the operator can't work that out) Cheers Mary

I love shots of fungi, they come in so many different shapes and sizes and make wonderful photographs; this being no exception. Great shot!

A favourite subject of mine fungi do tend to be difficult to photograph well. Nice use of depth of field with foreground slightly out of focus, centre well in focus and background moving out of focus again. The only thing that spoils the shot, for me, is the leaf intruding at the top centre, though clearing it was probably not an option open to you.
