This is a fantastic image, love the yellow tones and the gold, the bare tree pull it together and gives the water movement around it, very well balanced picture and one I like very much.

Interesting composition, created in a monochrome colour. The tonal effects are good. The semi submergedbranch gives a nice point of interest.

Super image..the emphasis on the horizontal lines works really well the almost monochromatic use of colour is quite spectacular..the texture, especially in the foreground & the mountains toward the back is wonderful..my only question is the " driftwood " piece..I am not quite sure what bothers me about it..perhaps the dark colour or the texture? An excellent choice for the contest..Good Luck with that!

Thank you, Julika. It's not actually "driftwood" like you would find at the beach, but a drifting chunk of old waterlogged tree. It drifted down from way upstream somewhere. Hard telling where it came from. lol. Again, thank you! 8-)

why did you remove it " from public view"?Hope my comment had nothing to do with that decision..julika

This is really beautiful. All yellows get it makes such a stunning painting the dead tree in the water reflection and the slight movement of the water is absolutely fantastic, in detail the mountains and clouds in the background really add to this overall look. What a fantastic painting for the contest. You have a real talent. Good luck, although I don't think you'll need it.

I really like the yellow and gold. The sky is especially pretty. I like the branch in the water too. I've never seen the Rio Grande, but if this is an idea of it, it's lovely. Good digital work!

I don't remember if I've ever seen it either, Natalie. lol. You know how it is when giving a painting a title... to me this just looked like it should be called Rio Grande. Thank you ever so much for the excellent rating. Very much appreciated. 8-)

What a beautiful and realistic digital painting. I love the hazy golden tones that you have used and the wonderful depth created by the double mountain range.

The log in your lake sets it off very nicely, providing a nice focal point

Best of luck in the contest!

This looks like a photo, just wonderful. All the shadings of yellow, shadows, and then the tree trunk placed perfectly within the frame. Really good job. Thanks for sharing.

Click, thank you so very much. I'm wondering why the 4.5 rating when you don't mention anything wrong. I sincerely thank you for the beautiful comments. 8-)

I meant to give you a 5-1/2, I'll try to change it, so sorry

I see the problem, I was out of 5-1/2's, so you get a 5 and I changed it. This really a creative piece, don't have any 6's left either:)

I have done that more than once myself... thinking I still had higher ratings to give. Thank you for correcting it, and for the thought on the 5.5!!!
