I do not know if it is intended, but your painting looks like a Illustration to the Russian Folktale ??there are Firebirds singing by night, picking the golden fruit? [Yakov Polonsky]. Your picture seems perfectly to illustrate this line. Your stylish picture would be an ideal poster for Stravinsky?s ballet The Firebird which is based on the folktale. It is just perfect in my mind.

Cleo, thank you dear friend, for the comments and beautiful stars. I was calling this little guy a firebird while I was working on him. In the Russian Folktale, what was the golden fruit? Does it mention? Don't think I've ever heard the story. Again, thanks a million for this!! :)shawn

The golden fruit are apples!!!
Golden Apples and Firebirds are an often used symbol in slavic folklore.
The Firebird is described as a large bird with majestic plumage that glows red. The feathers keep glowing even if the bird lost some. One feather lits a whole house.
The most known version of the firebird tales is titled "Ivan Tsarewitch and the Gray Wolf".

Really nice piece. Your color choices are excellent. The concept and composition are terrific. The elements of the design work so very well together as to take the viewers eyes through the entirety of the area. If I may, the piece has a kinder gentler Tim Burton feel. A very well done work. Thanks
