I've always been very fond of cats myself and while I've never attempted to draw one I've always enjoyed looking at other artist's renderings of them!

You don't have to make excuses for this portrait. I think the pastels look wonderful and I would never have known if you hadn't told me that the colors are not as they really are.
I love the softness of both kittens and they have very expressive eyes.
Be proud of your work and don't tell anyone what went wrong in the process of doing it.

Excellent work of these two cats - they are naturally cute for sure with their silver white fur- fantastic painting,your technique seems to have adapted to the cat's style and structures, every single hair or part of the structure is perfect, - your background is wonderful and I love that you have brought some deepness in instead letting it simple blue, this way of background creates a life power ambiance helping the cats to become more real - fantastic composition, lovely how you placed them close t each other , their face expression is perfect as well as the design of their angora fur - great contest entry , excellent technique, thanks for sharing

For all the world, it looks like the one on the left is like a grumpy old man asking, 'WHAT?', and the one on the right a very pleasant, inquisitive young lady asking, 'How can I help you?'. Oh well, I've got a really overactive imagination! Whatever on that point, but you have truly made a wonderful piece of art here. The colors, personalities, sharpness/clarity and background are incredible. No need to feel apologetic for the paper! These to are super beautiful. I too am a cat lover. We presently have 3. I like the postures you have placed them in. Their eyes are hynotic like most kiddies eyes. The soft pastels fit in this case to soften the image. If the image is too flat when you upload it you can always add or subtract a touch of contrast or saturation to replicate the original drawing.

Lovely kittens. Very well chosen background colour. The uploaded images do not show here in the best quality, I can only agree with it. This is a very nice drawing, with very well worked out light & shadow.

I don't know how the colors are in real, but I think the way the blue tones are showing in the background looks very good. I also like that it is slightly textured, and the two cats are standing out well against it.
I also think the textures of the fur are done well by adding the white. I do however think this would have been even better drawing if you had paid more attention to doing the eyes. Especially on the cat to the left. I also feel that the proportions and anatomy of the cats are slightly wrong.
When it comes to the composition I think it would have been better balanced if the cats had not touched the frame at the bottom. It is actually just small adjustments needed to make this image even better, because I think it is all together well crafted, and I wish you luck with the contest.

Thank you for taking time to review. Actually the eyes don't look at all as they do on the original. I always pride myself on being able to draw and paint eyes so this was disappointing, as was your remark on them. However, I'm sorry you don't feel the proportions and anatomy are correct - I do strive to get these right but we are all entitled to our opinions.
