wow, now that is really different! (sorry, had to say that reading your comments) :)

Very nicely done. Love the textures you captured here. Pigeons come in so many varieties but we only thing of the New York kind when someone mentions them.

Love how you brought out both eyes. Wel done.

I think I know the artist on this one...WOnderfully drawn, pulls the viewer right in to take a look! The black background was an excellent choice to showcase this fellow! The beak looks hard and the feathers soft, I think you have pulled it off quite nicely! SUPER contest entry! jean

At first I thought I was seeing real pigeon but realized that it was not, the feathers on this bird are so true to life.
My slight worry is that at first you think he is owl

I think that you accomplished your goals with this. You did a great job in rendering the feathers with some slight shadows. The black backgrounds helps to emphasize the softness of the featheres. Great job.

I am a Non Pigeon People. You made me learn something new. I know wild birds, but I have no education about show birds. So I had to look up the species. Now I say indeed Wow! Actually Three Wow?s. One compliments your knowledge and one to the impressive Asian Breed itself. The most important wow, to your drawing, especially the attention to fine, correct detail. There must be hundreds of accurate pencil stocks to gather this effect. I admire how you placed several shades of light gray into the area which seems white before one looks closely. You indeed captured the textures of the plumage as well as the accurate colors and the fanciness of this bird. Best Luck for the contest!

Always my pleasure to review good artwork, truth I find it harder to review than pieces who have flaws. There is a danger to fall into platitudes reviewing flawless artwork.

I'm a non pidgeon person and I said Wow. Love the drawing. Colored pencils are not my favorite, but you have used them beautifully. Love the lines and curves. Beautiful expression. Nicely done!
