Journalism it is. A clean and well exposed image against the heavens makes this a very enjoyable view.
I do like the side compositional style you show for it gives room for that "ribbon" to flow into.
You have a dust spot on your lens. Normally I deduct for this for it is considered a technical fault but the dot is really small. If you are submitting this into a juried state contest you would have to remove it.
Look at the bend in the "ribbon". The dot is in the clouds...upper section just off to the right...see it? Use your healing brush and take that out. No, the dot is not on my computer screen.

Thank you very much for your throughout review and your tip. Thanks for telling the location of the spot. I never saw it and cannot see the dust right now, but I will blow the original up until I find it.

Hi, I just looked again to make sure I wasn't hallucinating....yup it's still there!

This is impossible. Please look again. I found the spot. I cleaned the original today, cleaned rezised the claned version and replaced the upload this afternoon. I just looked at my portfolio. I blow the picture there up to 500% and do not see any spots.
Please let me know if you see a second spot anywere.

Your canvas looks clean to me now. I doubt the membership would have noticed this in the contest. I am like you, I strive to get it right.

An interesting sculpture but show in such harsh light that the details are consumed by the contrast. Excellent composition with nice colors. Good luck in the contest.

Thank you very much for your kind review. I will try to lighten the statue up. I am not sure if mixed media is allowed at this contest. If not I will re-post after the contest.
