That's an intriguingly pretty image,Cleo85!
It's enjoyably 'alien' look puts me in mind of the literary creations of the early 20th century 'gothic horror' writer,H.P. Lovecraft !

I really like it as I can FEEL how you create them - this one has such a nice and heavenly flow as it can be in a green universe, under water and in the air, all feels right so it becomes multidimensional and I love that -you are so very welcome :)

On first glance it doesn't appear to be a reality based image. I like the rendering of the starfish and the greenery is outstanding with just enough swirl. An eye catching shot with excellent colors and very fine cropping.

Wow! I just realized that this is a photo! nice work! I thought it was a painting. Very creative rendition of the original photo. I love the colors. The Star in the middle jumps right out at you. Amazing job of blending through! Bravo! Well done.

This looks like a lot of fun. It is breezy and full of movement. See that dark patch up top? I like that because it shows a stormy feeling that is intruding upon the green algae.
Too bad it isn't a perfect square for it would be all the more powerful...alas, an almost square is good enough, it is called artistic license.
The colour palette shows you are an artist at heart with green and yellow that always show strong and ominous darkness in the background that does not take away but only adds.
I find your artist's notes helpful and now I am tempted to try something similar....thank you for teaching us new avenues to explore.

Thank you very much for your encouraging review. I admit I did not particularly for ant format as usual. I always crop as it looks best for me, no mattr if artwork or photo. Reading your adwise about square format I tried, but I loss some of the swirl an the color balance.
Info for explorers: The distortion filter I used [twirl 1 - Digital Image Suite Pro 10] distored the original photo to less than 50% which means that I have to transfair it to a canvas and paint the edges out with distortion brushes in order to keep the style. The by photo and filters goven shapes dominate the mixed media, so that the brushes have to follow. Unfortunatly those brushees are not as easy to handle as paint bushes, esspecially the smaller sizes.

Cleo, my knowledge of Photo shop is limited. I do know how to distort but to use brushes I do not understand at all. I do "monkey" in the "darkroom" often and stumble upon new knowledge and new ways....then I forget everything (he he he he). It's fun, tho' isn't it?

I do not use photoshop at all, I just mix a half dozend or so othe programs, mostly those created by apple. Apple has the better graphics in my oppinion.
