It's a good looking photo of a 'Sacajaweya Dollar',Meg!
I remember when they were saying that this thing-which turned out to be little more than a seldom seen monetary curiosity - would make paper 'George Washington' dollar bills totally obsolete!
( RIGHT! : D )
Good Show,my friend!

I really like the colors here the yellow on the orange background, it really makes it stand out. I don't know that much about macro but I am willing to learn as much as I can. This coin is well centered and the focus is well done, keep up the great work and thanks for sharing. JackJr.

I tend to receive these coins as change from time to time or will "buy" them from a cashier/teller and save them for gifts for the nieces and nephews. I think that this image is best served for the National Mint advertisement. I am glad that you were able to get one at last. I look forward to seeing other photos that you have taken.

Thank you for taking the time to review. As you know photography encompasses many subjects and techniques including macro shots. Taking photos of mundane things like coins sharpens the skills of the photographer so they can take that very dramatic photo in the future. Photography is more than flowers, landscapes and cute kittens. I hope you enjoy my traditional work in the future.

I will enjoy more from you. I like macro shots myself as opposed to vast panoramic views. I like the detail that the macro brings to a picture. You can miss a lot of interesting finds in a big picture.

Cool design element to this: the cloth in the background almost acts like a curtain on a stage, and the coin is the star of the show. Very warm theme, with the orange in the background and the golden hues of the coin. It gives this shot a sense of comfort and respite. The source of light has unity, as it comes from the top to cast its glory onto the coin.

I have one of those coins, I received as a good luck coin for my new car. They are cool.
Meg, you have a nice capture, but your focus is soft. Macro shots require low shutter highF/stop. Itvis best to use a tripod or monopod.
It's a nice shot but lacks sharpness.

Thanks for the tip. Macro shots for me are still in the learning stage. Even the lighting part is still experimental. But you have to try different things to learn :)

Yes.. Every photo walk/ sporting event is a learning experience. You will get there Meg I am sure of it.

A beautiful picture of the "Gold" Dollar coin with the 'Native American' mother & child embossed upon it. (Somewhere I have one tucked away in my souvenirs) Beautiful composition, framing & lighting to show off the embossing to best advantage, with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.
