Fabulous... If I may... the only thing that would be better is if this were a glass of WINE... lol

Seriously though, fantastic focus with such clarity and detail. It is the color and light however that most impress me. Fabulous exposure.

Thanks for sharing and good luck in the contest!

Thank you very much for such a great review. I was all out of wine so I had to settle for water. Lol.

The simplicity of your photo is fabulous....fabulous that you take two everyday items and turn them into such a nicely composed photo.

To be honest...there's not a thing I would change. It's perfectly cropped....the watercolor filter is perfect for this photo. You've set it up just right.

Best of luck in the contest.

An excellent 'still-life' photography. Innovative. Imaginative. The light, colours and the framing have worked well. Bravo! Good luck in the contest!

This image deserves more than a 5, but alas, I am out of anything higher.

Love the way the background compliments the reds and yellows.

Strong lines, great colors! Awesome work.

I think the overall concept with this is great and I love the glow of the candle and the reflections and soft colours. I'm not crazy about the background, it might have worked better either without the watercolor filler or just changing the colour slightly. Either way it's a really nice picture for the competition.

Thank you Bernadette. I think it would have been better if I shot against a black background. I think it would have popped more.

You are giving yourself away with Topaz Watercolour Filter.

I like this post better than the previous one because it has more depth, more eye catching objects and the vignette is lovely.

The only advice I can offer you on this is that titles DO MATTER. Titles, in photo exhibitions, gallery showings can make or break an image they are critical. Imagine the effect your title would make had you said "wine" instead of "water"....that brings a whole new dimension to the image and would throw the reviewer into another world.

Nice all round with good marginal space and oh so warm....like mulled wine :-)

Hummm thank you. You really are giving me food for thought. I just joined the local art league and they will be having a call for entries for a contest in their gallery in April. I don't have a clue how to frame a piece for display in a gallery. Any suggestions about size of frame and matting would be greatly appreciated .

In our PHoto Exhibition they do a black matte, aluminum frames (they are light) and NO GLASS. Previous years the photographs were mounted on a half inch board and exhibited that way....I like both ways but the framed ones look classiser. I will send you my private email addy and can send you photos of my exhibited framed images to give you an idea. Also, Cephus on this site does gallery showings...he's a gentleman through and through so feel free to write to him.
