Interesting notes on this " Love in the mist" pod. Looks like it protects itself with long needle like prickly thingies! How's that for a description Doc? :)
I like the colors, focus and crisp pointy details.
But...yes there is a but!
I feel cropping is tight all around and some more "breathing room"
Was needed.
Just sayin!
Still it is a fine shot of this prickly love in the mist thingy!!
Peace out!

Oh and you have no idea how much I appreciate it Sange. I must get out of this funk and get back to posting. You're right...this photo cropped tight. I was trying to keep out things I didn't want included....and you'll be surprised but what looks prickly is not really. All the points are soft. Tricked you eh!!

Nice pic of the Pod! Texture shows well, dof allows for the pod to stand out.. seems a little out of focus. Great capture of this plant

Not at all uc. Perhaps you're not familiar w/ what this seed-pod actually looks like. Focus is spot on.

It is not only unusual this seed pod, it is also very beautiful with the light green and deep red colors. The drops of dew adds interest, and the pod is also standing out well against a nicely softened background.
Your photo is also nice and sharp showing really clear and well defined details in every part of the pod, and the exposure is perfect.
Personally I would have liked more negative space on each side, but since the frame is so thin, I think it works well in this case. It is an all together truly lovely and well taken photo, and with a very good DOF.

I actually DO agree w/ you av about the sides. It's mates were crowding me out though as I really wanted just a single seed-pod...so did the best I could. Thank you so much for checking it out. I really do appreciate it.

Wow, this looks quite dangerous, is it prickly? Love the colours, almost like a candy wrapped in a wrapper. Nice photo of this, nice details of the prickly things. Your background does not take away from the main subject and your lighting is excellent

Excellent close up of this unusual seed pod and thanks for the notes with this. I like how you framed it. Love the angle you used, showing the colourful pod among the lacy foliage with the soft green in the background, making it stand out really well. Very good lighting and focus. Great Composition. Those are some of my garden beds in the background Suzanne....they are each surrounded w/ rocks....mostly granite although I used up most of the granite I can find on my property now. Thank you so very much for checking it out....writing such a thoughtful review and, of course for the very fine rating. I really do appreciate it.

WOW!!! Now this is a site to behold! Your angle and focus are exquisite. Colors vivid and well-lit with shadows as well to convey the spindly thing. Your description adds to my interest in exploring this photo. Great job!

Great detail in the photo. The lace as you call it looks like protection to the seed to me. It looks like it would stick your finger if you weren't careful. I like the blurred background. Thanks for the information. I like to learn new things.

Holy Cow,,, This is great. This seed pod, is beautiful. I love the colors. The DOF is wonderful, makes this POP, very nicely, I might not have cropped it so tight, it looks like you cut off just the tips, but nothing taken off for that. Still not sure I would want to grab with bare hands, Thanks for sharing.

You're right Kelly...did cut it a bit close...but you know me....I like to FILL the frame w/ my flowers and when I took this I didn't account for all the 'buddies' this guy had....and really wanted him alone. Thanks so much for checking it out. I really do appreciate it.
