Roger,
A great portrait of this interesting elderly Gentleman, who I suspect is young in heart & still more active, than many a younger man. The lines on his face tell many a story & many smiles of both is mouth & those twinkling eyes! Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera & editing techniques & razor sharp focus.

Hi Dodgement,
What a wonderful image showing off all the wear and tear of a dignified old age. I have sketched a similar image I the past of Walt Whitman which you might care to have a gander at in my portfolio. The beard was a killer! :) R

Comment from Life is but a dream.
Yes, yes yes....and only in b/w does this work with such strong visual impact. The eye contact is spectacular (and you know this too) and the tonal quality with a great range of grays pops this. An unobtrusive background and fine portrait format and a face with a history.
Old coger maybe, but I would like to sit with him and have a java and listen to his life unfold before me.
