Congratulations on this spectacular win of yours. I just love moose especially after having lived in Alaska. They are a beautiful creature and you have truly captured her at her best. This photo has all the bells and whistles to make it a winner....everything from the lighting, saturation, highlights, shadows, exposure, contrast, sharpness, focus, DOF, POV, color, hues, tints and framing to overall composition. Oh this is priceless. I love close ups of animals' and their expressions. They really do have reactions with their eyes and their mouths...You have it here! Who would've thought a moose would be so personable...other than Bullwinkle of course.
Your camera techs are perfect. That bit of shadow is occurring in just the right places...keeping any bright sunlight from interfering with your detail. The eye and mouth are sharp. The fur is detailed without being over saturated with color. The curly fur on the forehead is my favorite. Fits with her expression...as if she is proud of her hairdo and her long lashes. :D Great bg control of lots of light. It works well for the shadowed moose. Well done and a pleasure to view! Thanks for sharing!

Thank you for the grand rating and comments :) She reminds me of Bullwinkle too and I like those curly locks. I wonder if the immediate comparison to Bullwinkle shows our age!

Whoa, I've never seen a moose up close but seeing one smile is lovely and a bit far out at the same time!! amazing capture close up, tightly cropped and with good natural lighting and DOF - the colours are great as a range of browns fill the head, mane and nose and the clarity is spot on, giving the viewer the best look at this weird but wonderful image! best of luck!

Holy cow...moose! Lol - thank you so much for your the high marks and your very flattering comments. It is nice to hear such a good review from one so talented. I am not near any wetlands or wilderness areas. This moose is at one of our zoos. That's about the only place I get to see wildlife besides songbirds, loons, geese, rabbits and the occasional deer and fox -which are all great things to see but for the bigger wildlife I have to go to a zoo.
Thank you again for the nice comments. Makes me feel like I did a good job on this one :)
