This is absolutely gorgeous! I love the sweeping strokes you used for the leaves of the plants and the wispy white. I love the curvature of the stems of the plants and the little purple flowers are so cute. Excellently done!

Hi Lise, I think your carnations re beautiful. They are delicate with lovely ruffles. What's even more magical to me is that your carnations look like they're growing under water. I know that's not what you intended but I love the look! The white specks look like tiny bubbles, Very cool and so deserving of six stars! :o) Helvi

This is truly beautiful! I love the airy nature of the piece; like the blooms and stems could gently sway with a breeze in any second. The rendering is very well done with an appealing color palette. I have seen posts with frames, but usually best to post without. A great entry for the contest. Best of luck.

Hi Lise, this is fabulous ! I absolutely love it! The carnations are so well shown here and I love the pale purple almost lilac color. It's impressive to study the stems and leaves and I love the way you have arranged the carnations . The background is perfectly chosen and applied , I think that silvery Grey gives this a dreamy look as if this is in a field with bits of sunlight peeking through a grey sky.

Classic combination of grey and violet, with the addition of a leaf green. Always works. I used to enjoy that song, 'a white fur coat and a pink carnation' when I was young. I used to actually see it in my mind's eye.

You have shown great definition without going overboard. I absolutely love the slimline simplicity and softness. Definitely shows a lot of tallent. Kudos to you my friend!
