Steve,
A magical sunset picture with the setting sun's golden rays fanning out
from the horizon then glowing through the fronds of the Palm Tree sapling in the foreground as it stands out from the dark background. Artistic composition framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.
Susan

This is an exquisite capture. Your photo has good depth and is excellent focused, exposed, and treated with mixed media. I enjoy the beauty of color and light and the refinement of detail. The golden glow at the horizon and the palm tree is fascinating. The blues of the sky are superb. Your mixed media is excellent composed and framed. The composition is balanced.

Wow Steve! This is such a beautiful and unique scene you have captured here. It was perfect positioning of yourself to capture the sun just before it dips below horizon and to line it up so perfectly with the palm! It's as if you brought the sunset right up onto the foreground , I like the way that warm golden light has illuminated the palm leaves . The palm up in back on the left is beautiful too and offers a good look at the contrast between light and shadows . I like the palms lined up at the waters edge on the left, the blue sky with just the orange at horizon is well shown too.
This is well focused , this image is clear, lighting is well managed, colors snd tones appear natural. This is a well thought out and composed scene. Well presented! I hope that you also managed to get a few shots of just the glowing palm too and if you did I hope you will share it too!

Thank you so very much Pat. You noted everything that I was attempting to add and capture in this scene. There were a lot of elements I wanted to show. You have such a good eye that you took them all in and 'saw' what I saw. Thank you again Pat ~ Steve

Steve ... Only you can catch and portray the sun as a blossoming nuclear holocaust, Wow!!! This shot is dynamite man, I love it.

The sun with its rays is the hook, but what really got me is the filtered light of the palm plant. It all comes together with a gorgeous play on light and dark.

You outdid yourself with this one ... Bob

I can see what you were after here Steve, but haven't quite managed. I will therefore go the opposite way this time and the you that it is nothing wrong with the composition. The photo is nicely framed and it has a good balance. I also the way the last rays from the sun are falling on the foreground plants, and in fact shining through the leaves.

The problem is that the sun is blown out, and the light on the foreground plant is too strong, with the consequence of loosing details. I also suspect that the photo is over sharpened.

All together I think it is a lovely and well taken photo, but in need of some adjustments.

That magical moment just before all the shadows disappear, sometimes leading to a flash of green just before the sun itself disappears in those latitudes. Thanks for sharing this with your fans!

This is beautiful! It looks like the sun's rays are reaching toward the palm and illuminating it. The photo is well composed. The sunset colors are lovely.

Steve, I love the whole view! Everything is stunning in this image. I especially love the backlighted plant. It's so cool and adds added fire to the image! You deserve six stars for the amazing shot!:o) Nancy
......PS When Mark asked me to write a poem about the Caribbean I had no idea that your work was within the project. I literally wrote the poem blind. Mark did an awesome job of blending everything together. I'm really proud I got to work with you! I just wanted you to know that! :o) Nancy
