This is an amazing picture. I wasn't sure what it was until I read the details. It's kind of has a scary face to it. You don't always know what things are when it's up close.

An alien fish shown here. I'm assuming you have copied and actual fish and then did a macro rendition. I understand they are good to eat if you remove some of the parts that contribute to the puffer appearance.

Yes, it turned out pretty nice, like you said different and has a good visual impact.
It was on display, as part of collection of paintings I did on "Inhabitants of the Reef", at the citrus college library lobby for six month .

This is an interesting choice of a painting subject and the fact that you painted it close up makes it "mysterious". Your choice of colours are perfect and the amount of blue for the water is just enough to make it recognizable. Well done

You're very welcome. And just so you know, I'm a little partial to blowfish as it makes me think of my son. He went to Thailand where he got his SCUBA certification and the first fish he saw was a blowfish. To commemorate his first encounter, he got a tattoo of one on his leg

Still looks cool, you have to catch one to really appreciate your sketch, amazing. Very nice shading and detail. When I was younger I enjoyed blow fish fishing, they blow up like a balloon, Very nicely presented Lucien. Great job. Ray
