It is a good looking owl you have pictured here, and it almost looks like it is talking to you. Especially the big shiny eye is well captured, and the bird is also standing out from the neutral background in an excellent way.
The photo is sharp with clear and well defined details, and the exposure is perfect.
I also like the tight framing and the placement of the bird within the frame. A truly lovely and well taken photo with a very good DOF, and I wish you luck with the contest.

Nice job. What type of camera was used? I like owls they are magnificent birds. What a great close up to be able to capture the beak and the beautiful eyes great job.
