Great job and congrats on your 2nd place win.
You did an awesome job in creating this in pastel. Absolutely amazing.
You should enter this in an international art contest!

This is lovely work done in pastels. The trumpet is realistic as are his fingers and mostly the whole scene. Well done in pastels. Yes, I, too imagine and can almost hear that music although I never heard him, unfortunately, as a child.

An excellent portrait of the musician. Love the cheeks being full as he gathers air to blow the trumpet. Colors used are great and you have captured the concentration and feeling of the player well.

Beautifully done!!! Your artwork is well composed and placed within the frame. You create great depth with your shading and use of colour. The wrinkles in the fabric are well drawn. His expression and facial are proportionate and effective. You captured the reflected light in his instrument with mastery. Well done!! If I had a six I would give it to you. Thanks for sharing

I can remember hearing this guy's music way back in the nineteen fifties,Jan!
But then-he was really popular for a good long time!
That's a very good looking pastel portrait of him,my friend!

a very good entry Janice to the "I can almost hear photo contest" and you might be jealous when I tell you that during a trip to New Orleans about 50 years ago, i was lucky to see and hear Louis Armstrong;

Janice, this is a fine pastel rendering of the famous Louis Armstrong belting out a flurry of Jazz. He was the man of jazz and he will remain that forever. This is a fine testament to him and Jazz. Good luck in the contest. Ray
