This is great. I love your shadows and details in the grain of the wood and the reflection on the tin can. The onion is a little confusing. I mean there are onions that are purple but I really didn't know it was an onion until I saw it in your description. But it's all done really well. Just great.

Thank you for reviewing and comments, yes the sketch before the wash was a good sketch of the onion, I guess it got a bit distorted in the effect but really helpful comments

If I was going to "take off" for anything it would be lighting because the tin can (or cup of sorts) could use a little more in my opinion and the vegetable is a tad difficult to determine but I enjoy this piece as it has character and depth with solid appeal. The more I look at it the better it gets.

A good looking image posted here into the competition! Your fine and full composition grants a good view of some kitchen basics. Colours, textures and tones are good. Well created and good luck!

Very nice Brenda, this came out great, all those reflections and bright high lights. The shadows are dramatic and give depth to the piece. The best of luck in the contest. Ray

Just a hint but you might respell onion in your top line. :)
Still life to me is an opportunity to use shade and shadow to give depth to the artwork. You have done a great job with those details. The use of limited color and let the lines and texture do your talking is terrific. The simple scene of three objects gives each one of the objects to feature details without crowding the scene. Giving the onion
the star position defines the DOF. Well done.

Simply and believably done with great perspective on these differing shapes. Great colors with excellent technique on portraying depth and lighting with limited colour tones... very well done! IMPRESSIVE!

I really like this one Brenda, and especially because of the limited color pallet and the simplicity. Not sure if I am going to call this a drawing or a painting, but it is indeed done paying a very good attention to details, and with excellent use of high lights.

The format and tight framing is working well, and it is a very good balance in the composition. A truly lovely and well done drawing/painting, and I wish you luck with the contest.
