Wow, a common rose portrayed in a very uncommon way, I like this a lot. It has this metallic look, strong and sturdy for such a delicate flower, quite the juxtaposition.

I like your creativity. I like the tight frame. There is so much detail and intricate features within the beautiful rose petals. A rose is a rose in color or black and white. I feel that perhaps the black and white allows more details of the petals to shine in the image. Nicely presented. Best of luck in the contest.

I have to admit on first glance I thought it was a cabbage!! Lol Please don't take that as an insult, it definitely isn't, but isn't it interesting how much we depend on colour to identify things, to the extent that rose in grey can look like a cabbage!
The rose is beautifully sharp with lovely detail. I like that it's a close up, and with the tight crop there is nothing to distract the eye. The effects you've added work very well and fit perfectly with the theme of this contest, and I wish you the very best of luck in it.
