Nik,
A beautiful & atmospheric picture of the the Geyser in Yellowstone during a hydrothermal explosion filling the surrounding area with super heated steam. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

Great find of this geyser with a lot of steam ejecting from the Mother Earth.
Nice details and so suitable black and white presentation. One can imagine an old steam train going through the tunnel.

an excellent capture of this geyser in the Yellowstone National Park at the moment when it was ejecting a plume of steam:.....................

Lovely composition here, but a tricky scene to capture well, with the darkness of trees and the brightness of the steam and sky, and unfortunately both the latter, particularly the sky, are rather overexposed. Did you take it in RAW? If so you may be able to recuperate some of it using different settings, it's definitely worth a try.

Your kind and interesting review is appreciated! Yes, I took it in raw, but left it somewhat over exposed as it looked more dramatic!!

Ah so it was intentional, whoops! Lol

Oh, this is a lovely capture of a fine scene making it in black and white, gray scale, and the color with the ash coming on the front elements and on the right, practically everywhere like snow. Thanks for sharing.

Yes. It's indeed a dramatic scene. Good observation during your tour. Good timing. The gentle colours, light and dark and the composition have worked well. Thanks for sharing.

This is something else that I can't keep out of my head. It's just a remarkable photo. Great emotion, contrast, detail and color. It needs to be in a gallery.

Hi Nik, It must be fun touring the National Parks in the US and coming across a scene like this! Looks like you were there on a cold day. Love the way the steam is rising from the vent. You were standing in a great place to capture it. Lighting and focus are both good. A definite joy to see! Thanks for sharing! :o) Nancy

This is a well balanced, well captured example of natural phenomena.
What a great catch. The lighting is great, I can almost feel the cold of the scene.
Thank you for sharing.
