I just had to. Something about this photo caught me right away, and landscapes are one of my popular subjects to shoot. Everything about this shot represents how good you are. Recognize and Best All Time wouldn't be enough!

This is getting to be a rare scene. I love old roads like this. It makes you want to go down and see what most do not. I love exploring places like this.

A beautiful & atmospheric Northumbrian landscape with the farm track leading the eye into the heart of the picture & the bare branched tree in the centre under a ceiling of grey rain clouds, the sun shining down through a gap in the clouds lights up the foreground. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

An old farm path. I love it, now I am waiting for the sheep to come around with a Border Collie rounding them up. lol, you can tell I have been watching some utube videos of dogs learning how to herd sheep. Looks like its cold here lol

Ha ha but you are absolutely right, we are deep in sheep country here! I have beautiful views from every window of my house, and each one you look out at, contains sheep!
Actually I once trained a collie I had to work the sheep, but the trouble was we could no longer use the words Away, Come or By in any conversations because he so loved doing it that the minute he heard any one of those words he went completely leery, rushing around in circles, barking and jumping up at everybody - never helpful in a small kitchen! Lol

oh, that is too funny> I see videos with whistles which I could never do. lol, I am learning the lingo, I have an Australian Shepperd and would really like her to see sheep, I think she would be so good at it.

Oh yes those whistles are impossible! You need a friendly farmer who?ll lend you a small group of sheep, then put them into a small pen (I used very low electric netting). Then you stand a little way away from the pen and let the dog loose - whichever direction the dog runs, you call out that command, Come by for clockwise or Away for counter clockwise. Gradually, with regular practice, he?ll learn which call means which direction, it?s that simple!
So off you go and make friends with a local farmer! That could be the hardest part though! Lol

lol, yeah, the closest place for me to do it for fun is 6 hours away. Here we have mostly cow farmers.

I love this moody looking scene of the clouds and countryside. It looks like a painting. Beautifully composed with the dirt road in the middle becoming narrower as the eye looks ahead. I love that winter looking tree and the greenery along the sides, plus the old fence. Even though the weather might be cold and wintery it makes for a wonderful photo! The colors are very natural and the composition is good.
The grey stormy clouds give atmosphere to the scene against the dry dirt path.

Thank you so much Mary. Ha ha you were very lucky then - this year England had one of the hottest summers ever. . . We remained mostly between 16 and 20! Heatwave? What heatwave? Lol It?s a very lovely area of England though, I?m so pleased you?ve visited it.
